5th Annual First Step For Change to Begin
Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Youngstown and the Diocesan Office of Pro-Life, Marriage and Family Ministry will sponsor the 5th Annual First Step for Change project which collects spare change to assist low-income pregnant women and families with food, formula, clothing, diapers and other items essential to a child's health, safety and well-being. Parishes that are interested in participating in this collection, which is similar to the Catholic Relief Servies Operation Rice Bowl Campaign, can download the participation forms here. This years event is being sponsored by the following Knights of Columbus groups:

Catholic Charities Offers Workshop Series Focusing on New Immigrants
Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Youngstown, in partnership with the Immigrant Worker Project, has concluded a demographic survey of new Latino immigrants to the Mahoning Valley Area. Three workshops titled: New Immigrants in Tri-County Area: Global Landscapes and Local Contexts!, will be held on May 19, June 11 and June 23, will analyze different aspects of the study, as well as hear from other experts in the Valley who work with newcomers from other parts of the world. Please join us for all three workshops at the Youngstown Steel Museum, 151 W. Wood Street, and all of the workshops are free to the public.
