Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Youngstown severs the six northeastern counties of Ohio: Ashtabula, Columbiana, Mahoning, Portage, Stark and Trumbull. Within this six-county region, Catholic Charities has four social service agencies and a housing organization, all of which sponsor a total of fourteen locations.
Faithful to many of the priorities established decades ago, Catholic Charities remains devoted to helping meet basic human needs, strengthening families, building communities and empowering low-income people. Although advances in technology and science have transformed society, individuals and families still find themselves in desperate situations that require the basic necessities for living. Catholic Charities continues to provide the traditional services, such as emergency assistance with food, clothing and shelter, while developing new programs and services to meet new and emerging needs. Comprehensive senior support programming, a domestic violence shelter and services, outreach and ministry to immigrant and migrant populations and pregnancy and family support services are some of the more recent programs Catholic Charities has developed.
As communities expand and change, the needs of its residents also transform. Since every community is unique, the fourteen (14) Catholic Charities locations offer a different combination of services and programs to meet local needs. A comprehensive list of Catholic Charities' locations, services and programs can be found in the Program and Service Guide.
All of Catholic Charities' services and programs are provided to qualifying persons regardless of faith, age, sex, race or ability to pay.
