Poverty in America Campaign

Diocese of Youngstowm

Welcome to Catholic Charities

"As a community, the Church must practise love.  Love thus needs to be organized if it is to be an ordered service to the community." (Deus Caritas Est, par. 20).

The Holiday Season is Upon Us; Catholic Charities Needs Your Help

Thanksgiving and Christmas are only a few weeks away.  With increasing unemployemnt levels and foreclosures, more families are in need of basic material assistance to get through the months ahead.  Some will need help with utilites; others with food.  Others will need assistance buying diapers and baby formula.

During the holiday season, please consider making a monetary or material (Diapers, gift cards, food) to enable Catholic Charities to expand its services.  This will enable us to be there to help individuals and families in need of basic necessities such as food and shelter.  With the increasing food and utility costs, many families will also face the Christams season with less resources for gifts for their children.  Your help is so important and needed.

If you have made a donation to the Annual Bishop's Appeal for Catholic Charities and Church, THANK YOU.  Your generosity is greatly appreciated.  Unfortunately with the economic changes we are facing, more families are coming to Catholic Charities for financial assistance.

To make a difference in the life of a family in your community, you can make a donation online or by contacting your local Catholic Charities agency for additional opportunities.  For more information, contact the Office of Social Services at 330-744-8451.
