Offers a safe and secure environment for older adults in need of supervision or assistance with the activities of daily living while family caregivers are working or attending to other responsiblities. Catholic Charities provides individuals with expert health services combined with social and therapeutic activities that increase their cognitive and interpersonal communication skills. ADS also provides caregivers the opportunity to complete everyday responsiblities. Catholic Charities Serving Portage and Stark County offers this program in Louisville on the campus of St. Joseph Care Center.
Case Management
Provides in-home assessments and development of an individual care plan with the client to address items of concern.
Guardianship
Offers services for frail, elderly and mentally disabled adults who are deemed incompetent by the probate court, and provides them with caring advocates and surrogate decision-makers when no less restrictive alternative to guardianship is available.
Representative Payeeship
Provides management of Social Security benefits through individualized service plans for adults who suffer from mental or developmental disabilities, and ensures that their basic living expenses are prioritized and paid.
Senior Multi-Purpose Center
Provides older adults living in the East Liverpool area with in-home and on-site hot meals, transportation services, light chore services, and telephone reassurance. In addition, people have the opportunity to participate in a variety of socialization opportunities and events offered at the center.
Senior Support Program
This program is available to varying degrees in each county served by the Diocese of Youngstown. Catholic Charities assists elderly and disabled persons with such activities as grocery shopping, banking, and medical appointments. Clients also receive referrals to community resources and assistance completeing Medicare/Medicaid forms. For those who qualify, prescription/medication assistance is available and was provided.
